WAHA High Performance 14, 15 Skater Tryouts

Defensemen and forwards must register online beginning February 16th to compete in their respective open skater tryout on March 23-24 (2005's at Wisconsin Rapids, 2004's at Stevens Point - Ice Hawks Arena). WAHA will form teams and post player report times on the WAHA website for both birth-years on or before March 17.

Special skill sessions may be used for both birth-years followed by four games for the 2005's (2 Sat and 2 Sun) and the 2004's will have three games (2 Sat and 1 Sun) ending their regular tryout followed by an All Star game.

  • Participants must be registered with USA Hockey for the 2018-19 season. If not, click HERE to register.
  • Skaters (defenseman and forwards) must register online for the skater tryouts beginning February 16th.
  • Player Report Times for all players will be posted on the WAHA website prior to the tryout.
  • Tryout fee is $125 for defenseman and forwards and $75 for the selected goalies from the goalie tryouts which includes ice time and a jersey.
  • Use debit card, credit card or a gift card to register for the tryout.
  • NO REFUNDS, NO WALK-INS AND NO CASH OR CHECKS ACCEPTED. IF NO DEBT OR CREDIT CARD IS USED, PLEASE USE A VISA GIFT CARD TO REGISTER ONLINE.
  • Both birth-year players will be in separate birth-year tryouts.
  • Skater registration for each tryout location will be limited by position (Defense & Forwards), therefore the number of players in each tryout are not unlimited. No exceptions
  • Skaters must try-out for the position (defense or forward) they actually register for - No exceptions

Approximately 31 Wisconsin players will be selected directly from the WAHA 2005 Skater tryout at Wisconsin Rapids to join players from IL, IA, KS, MO and NE at the USA Hockey Central District HP 14 Camp June 16-21 at Iowa State University in Ames Iowa. Players names will be posted on www.centraldistricthockey.org and player families will click the players name and pay their camp fee online. Player evaluations at the camp will be kept at USA Hockey. No further steps.

Approximately 20 players will be selected directly from the 2004 Skater tryout at Stevens Point (ice Hawks Arena) to compete against players from IL, IA, MO, KS and NE at the USA Hockey Central District HP 15 Festival on May 10-12 at Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. A list of players moving on to this festival will be posted at www.centraldistricthockey.org where families can click their player’s name and register online. Players will compete to move on to the USA Hockey National Player Development Select 15 Camp. Player names moving on to a USA Hockey National camp will be posted at www.centraldistricthockey.org.
